Lockdown

I live in a regional town. It’s relatively quiet. The pace is leisurely. Besides a lack of loo paper, and closed shops on the main street. there was not much evidence of Covid 19. In fact, hardly anything changed at my house. So why did I get the Corona Crazies? Who knows? But there is irrefutable evidence. And I’m living with the after-effects.

First crazy thing… my hair. I woke up one morning and decided it looked like a mop on top of my head. My husband informed me he could fix it… and I let him.

Second, an even crazier thing… a kitten. Yes, that’s right. We decided to bring a new resident into the household. His name is Charlie Chocolate and he’s a ragdoll cat: specifically chosen because they are loafing, langourous felines that like to lay about. Obviously, Charlie’s mother failed to inform him of his well-bred disposition. He is not even slightly lazy. In fact, he’s terrorising us. Nothing is safe from his attention. He dances on keyboards, leaps on the furniture, scales the drapes, plays with ornaments, chases glasses around the floor, sharpens his claws on our clothes and chews our fingers and toes. And yet we are utterly enchanted by his beauty and furry cuddles, especially when he deigns to reward our loving care and attention by curling up on our laps for his naps.

I cannot tell you how relieved I am that Lockdown is almost over!

  1. Why am I just finding out about your blog? What a beautiful little furball you have. They are truly a lovely breed (we had a Ragamuffin, the poorer cousin to the ragdoll) once you get past crazy kitten stage. Fingers crossed you and your home will survive!! Looking forward to reading more antics. Cheers K BTW, love the hair😉
